Frame Numbering
This is a listing of known frame numbers identified between 2001 and 2007 - some numbers have been ignored if they do not conform to the following conventions:
Padiham 1945 4567 4568 1946 46153 46236 46636 1947 47341 47790 47803 47828 47939 1948 48270 1950 C008 C12 C248 C525 C587 C687 C750 C761 C964 C1079 C1085 1951 D220 D283 D287 D330 D386 D405 D446 D488 D575 1952 E167 E276 E310 E392 E396 E463 E594 1953 F13 F129 F185 F229 F234 F315 F331 1954 H21 H28 1955 I96 I64 1956 J78 J143 Blackpool 1980 8010 8042 80416 80730 801079 801084 801086 1981 811122 811130 812142 816206 8112288 1982 824323 826346 Production Quantities
At Padiham if we assume 100 frames were built in 1945 (wartime), 700 in 1946, 900 in 1947, and an unknown quantity in 1948 then we get a total of 1700.
Add to this an assumed 1000 frames in 1950, 600 in 1951, 600 in 1952, 400 in 1953, 100 in 1954, 100 in 1955, 50 in 1956 we get a total of 2600 to 3000 but can this be correct?
If we assume three framebuilders at the peak producing 1000 frames per annum this equals 7 frames per man per week!
Blackpool numbers run sequentially with the third (or third and fourth) digit being the month totalling approxiamtely 400.
For Example frame number 826346 would have been the 346th frame made in the June 1982 (82-6-346)
Therefore estimated total production comes to 1700 + 3000 + 400 = 5100.
The number of frames on the register comes to just 115, which means that, if 25% of frames were exported, only 2% of frames manufactured have been found so far.
